B is for Blogfest

Yep. Behold! Another blogfest. But I just love them and it's such a great way to get to know each other better. This blogfest is called Memory Lane and hosted by Vicki Rocho at  Rambles & Randomness in celebration of her blogoversary. Don't forget to check out the other entries.

The idea is simple. Answer these questions about myself:

1. When did you first start your blog?
Sometime in mid September 2010.
2. What is first price of stamp you remember?
Hmm, a tough one. I wanna say 10cents, but could that be right? Not sure.
3. How old were you when you learned to ride a bike?
I'm thinking 10. But geez my son learned at 5, so I guess I was slow getting around to it.
4. What was first concert you attended without parental supervision?
Duran Duran at age 14.
5.  How old were you when you got your first kiss?
I was 11 and it was outside the skating rink. Oh yeah. Total coolness. lol
6. What is your earliest memory?
Swimming for peanuts. Yep, I remember taking swimming lessons at like 19months old. If we could swim to the side of the pool we'd get a penny to put in the peanut machine (looked like a gumball machine) and get a handful of peanuts. Man, I remember those peanuts and how they tasted so salty after swimming.

That's it! How bout that A-Z Kickoff yesterday, huh? Great stuff. Looking forward to more of your posts. Thanks so much for including me on your rounds. 1000 bloggers participating! Outstanding.

Care to share with me any of your answers to the above questions? I'd love to learn more about you!

Sadly, I've never been to a concert. I can remember Grandma buying stamps...I think they were ten cents. I rode a bike when I was six, but I didn't learn to swim till I was eight or nine. My uncle threw us into the creek, then we took swimming lessons!

Duran Duran...I'm so jealous :)

I think I would have gone to see Duran Duran in concert had I had the chance. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Wow, that is an EARLY memory. I didn't know they had vending machines for peanuts. My hubs eats them whole, shell and all.

Oh, and my daughters may never get to go skating again. ACK

I'm here from the A - Z challenge. Nice to meet you. My first concert was Led Zepplin when I was 14. It was loud.
Happy B Day!

Wow, Duran Duran, that's pretty hard core for 14! I probably shouldn't admit this, but I was terrified of their "Hungry Like the Wolf" video. All that creeping through the woods in body paint... freaked me out!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for following, I hope you'll stop back tomorrow night for my Amazing Arc Giveaway contest!

I got my first kiss when I was 13 and at the time it seemed like I was the last girl in my class to get one. It was from my first boyfriend and it tasted like an ashtray!

Loved the swimming story, too. I bet nowadays they'd have to substitute something hypoallergenic though!

How lucky to see Duran Duran! My best friend from HS would have given a few years of her life to see them live. As it was, she had her entire room papered in Duran Duran photos and posters, including her ceiling!

I am retired, and I haven't seen Duran Duran concert yet!

Glad to know you a bit better.

Oh my gosh Duran Duran was my very first concert ever at age 14. Mom was with me, so it wasn't my first unsupervised one, but how funny we both listened to Duran Duran at 14. I like you more with every post. ;) Have an awesome weekend!

My first concert without parental supervision was either Alanis Morissette or Matchbox Twenty. And I was twenty. Before that though, I worked backstage at a couple of concerts including Dave Matthews Band and Bob Dylan.

This is a fun blogfest, just perfect for the letter B.

That envy, first kiss at age 11 and 14 a concert by Duran Duran ... my adolescence began at age 18. At least I had more time to childhood.

I love Duran Duran! Is that sad?

I have never ridden a bike and I can still remember things from when I was in diapers!

Good blog post today!

I'm jealous about Duran Duran. My parents would not let me go.

I'm pretty sure the first concert I attended without parents was (why am I admitting this online??) New Kids on the Block when I was about 14. To redeem myself, I think the second one was Bon Jovi...

Cool blogfest! Let me see - my earliest memory is watching my foster-dad building me a cot for my Tiny Tears doll. I'm so sad I know longer have that cot.

Great questions!

I learned to swim when I was about 3, I think. I can remember by Dad teaching me how to float.
First concert - silverchair? I think I was about 18.
I don'r remember how old I was when I learned to ride a bike, but I definitely remember coasting down a hill towards a fence, forgetting how to work the brakes, and doing an awesome flip right over the fence and landing in an ants' nest.
The stamp thing - no idea!

Hehe nice memories:

1) August 2010
2)1 penny, because I was a stamp collector and quickly learned that the penny black was the first stamp ever used.
3)I was around 8/9. Never really liked it.
4)Westlife when I was 15. I have since moved on to rock. ^_^
5)I was a very cute baby. My grandparents couldn't keep their lips off me. ;-P
6)Hmm... of my three imaginary friends when I was about three.

Ew, peanuts from a vending machine. Is that sanitary? LOL. We used to get M&Ms. Which explains all the hyper activity. Your pool was way cooler than mine. I'm on the challenge too, but had to stop by and say hello.

thanks for dropping in to thefeatherednest.
I think I remember 3 cent stamps for unsealed cards. Late bloomer on the bike, probably around ten or eleven. Never did see a concert. Earliest memory probably of my mom getting all dolled up for an evening out a a friends place..the smell of face power, the swish of her dress, the careful application of lipstick...all those girlie things. Too bad none of it rubbed off on me.

Great learning about you! Awesome answers!

I remember a first class stamp being 21p, and a second class stamp being 19p. We only have one standard stamp now and it's...40 something p?*snort* That's how much I post a letter, I don't even know how much a stamp costs these days....
