Happy I Day! This is my fave character that starts with the letter I :
Inman, W.P.
Okay, bust out the fan because even just thinking about this character gets me hot and bothered. lol
And I'm not exaggerating. *ahem* Anyway, Inman..... sigh ..... from the epic story Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier, played in the film by Jude Law, who I thought simply nailed the part. A British actor doing a Southern American accent is just precious. What's so resonating for me with Inman's character, is that the entire journey takes place from his POV and he doesn't have a lot to say to people--a quiet kind of guy--but he's strong willed and determined and through all the adversity that befalls him, he has one goal: to get back to his one true love, Ada.
Call me crazy, but I like a guy who doesn't have to talk a lot. I like a guy who's confident without using words to talk about it. I totally fell in love with this tragic character, and couldn't wait for him to get back to Ada.
How about you? Any thoughts on Inman or Cold Mountain? Or do you have a fave I character to mention? (BTW I'm slow getting around to blogs this last day... please forgive me as I may be delayed, but also determined to visit anyone who comments here.)
Have a great day!

I didn't see this movie until about 5 years after it came out. And I fell completely in love with Jude Law. You're right, his portrayal of Inman was incredible.
I've never seen it, and I'm not crazy about Jude Law, but the character sounds great!
I haven't seen the film, but seeing the last time I went to the cinema was when I was pregnat with my second child......who is 44 this year there are many films I haven't seen. I do see films on TV and dvd though.
Yvonne.
Nope, I've never seen it either. Jude Law is quite cute though!
I also adore Jude Law. And, in a rare twist, thought the movie was better than the book. Something about the book's opening turned me off. Never recovered from that.
You had me at Jude Law!

I haven't seen this, but I really think I need too now. Who can resist Jude Law?
We've never seen it, actually....
I saw this movie but I really don't remember it.
I'd always liked Jude Law, but fell in total love with him after this movie. Sigh.
As for Inman, I loved him, too. So tragic. :(
I loved that movie. I'm not a big Jude Law fan, but I must say that I loved him in this role.
Cold Mountain the book made me cry! What an ending! Why?!!?!? Booo-hooo!
Film was ok - but the book! My oh my!
Take care
x
Great book and movie.
And I've heard from linguists/speech pathologists, that it's easy for British actors to do Southern Accents. Something about how similar they are.
I thought Cold Mountain was a beautiful, beautiful book. I was less enthralled by the movie but I really enjoyed Jude Law's portrayal of Inman.
While I'm not familiar with Cold Mountain -- the book nor the movie, Jude Law is a cutie! He could sure convince me to add the film adaptation to my Netflix list! LOL
Cheers!

oh.my. forgot about *him*
and hey you over here--waves!
Cold Mountain was a great movie and I loved Inman! Such quiet strengh
Loved Inman, but hated what happened to him. Leave it to a man to write an abysmal ending like that. After all of that, he should have gotten his Happy Ending. :)
Please don't tell me you have a poster of him in your room! lol
I'll be back to comment tomorrow after you have had time to cool down.
Hey great post!! I love you blog set up and look!! Keep up the good work!!! You are invited to check out or folow my blog anytime!! Have a great day!!
I loved the movie, but I should really probably read the book, too.
Aside from a glimpse of the big explosion early on in the film, I've never watched it.
Love, love, love Cold Mountain. And Inman, Wow. Such a painful odessey. And yes, he is hot and the accent-perfect.
Uh oh, I must admit I've never heard of this character before. Thanks for talking about him.
