Dragonfly Warrior!

Happy November! This month is full of festivities, as it not only holds my real birthday, but my book birthday as well! Plus Thanksgiving is my favorite American holiday.

Last night's Halloween extravaganza was spooktacularly fabulous! My kids rated it at a 10 out of 10 possible points. LOL

Here they are now ....

My son is in the middle, his buddy is on the left. And that's Little PK in the cowgirl get-up. My son was so proud he was able to scare so many toddlers. LOL. Our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. Yards become graveyards and haunted trails, and spooks roam the streets while creepy music plays on loud speakers. It really is a blast.

Guess who's revealing their cover on this stupendous autumn day??

My friend Jay's book, DRAGONFLY WARRIOR, is emerging into the world early next year. Check it out!

The Mechanica Wars: Savage Machines Are Afoot...
At the age of twenty, Kanze Zenjiro's bloody footprints mark the bodies of those who stood in his way to protect the throne of Nihon. Now, the tyrannical Iberian Empire is bent on destroying his kingdom, and they send their steam-powered giants and iron spiders against him.
Zen embarks on a quest that takes him on the most dangerous journey of his life. To succeed, Zen must live up to his nickname, the Dragonfly Warrior, and kill all his enemies with only a sword and a pair of six-guns. He is called upon to somehow survive a test of faith and loyalty in a world so cruel and merciless, it borders on madness.

Book Information: Dragonfly Warrior is a steampunk adventure like no other. It's a dynamic mix of Asian and European mythology, the Wild West, martial arts, traditional fantasy, and high powered steam action that will keep you turning the pages.
Dragonfly Warrior is the first book of The Mechanica Wars, and will debut on January 6, 2014.

(Steampunk and Iron spiders?? Oh yeah, all over this one!)

About Jay:

After doing some freelance writing and editing for more than a dozen years, Jay decided to stop procrastinating and pursue his dream of being a novelist. He's been blogging for over eight years, and even had a comedy podcast syndicated all over the internet. All of that was fun, but all the steampunk-inspired stories in his head just wouldn't leave him alone. Jay spends his days working in medical sales, but he can be found toiling over his laptop late at night when all is quiet.
He draws inspiration from all over: H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Shakespeare, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Adams, and Isaac Asimov.
And Jay loves cookies.

Jay Noel's website:

Big congrats to Jay! If you don't know him already, head over to meet him. You'll be glad you did. And don't forget to check out some more great book features in my previous post below.

And stay tuned for my super fantastic GIVEAWAY on November 12 for my launch party!!

By the way, my cover is in the Masquerade Crew's Cover Wars! If you could take a quick minute to vote for Butterman (Time) Travel, Inc., it'd be a HUGE help! Just click HERE

My youngest son wanted to be Kanze Zenjiro for Halloween. I should post a pic of what I did for him!

And thanks so much for sharing my cover reveal with your readers.

We have this one part of our neighborhood that goes all out - mainly, it's one house, especially last year (I didn't get around to going there this year). They had speakers wired to this guy hiding across the street, and he'd 'talk' to you while he snuck up from behind and freaked you out! It was awesome :D

I love the creepy costumes and the adorable cowgirl -- so cute!

Congrats to Jay on the cover; it's really something to celebrate. Wishing him much success on his release in Jan! :-)

My sixteen year old is going through that (brief) stage where she is too cool to dress up. I'm sure she'll be over it by freshman year in college, when it's cool again.

My thirteen year old designed her own costume without any help and spent Halloween as Doctor Who's TARDIS.

I love that your son dressed up as something scary. I always dressed up as a witch or worse, well, mostly always. :)
